The Conquest of the Centre portrays the adventures of the unscrupulous whizkid therapist Mark Stroemer and his female rival Wolke Donner who gains his trust by using a false identity in order to put an end to in his game. Stroemer processes hopeless therapy cases into dubious counselling bestsellers. Challenged by the intelligent and attractive spy the charlatan comes on in top form thanks to his easygoing delight in experimentation, Stroemer beats the cancer of broker Jacohy, who is hooked on therapy. Orthodox medicine goes out of the window, but an insurance concern pricks up its ears.
